Aurora Colors is a sole proprietorship, founded in July, 1996 in Petaluma, California.

I have been designing and creating stained glass since 1994. My studio was in my garage and a relative gave me an old ceramic kiln for my glass painting and silver staining. I didn't know very many people in town as I also maintained a job in San Francisco which used up at least twelve hours a day during Mondays through Fridays. My commissions came in via the yellow pages. Aurora Colors started to expand when I began teaching stained glass to Lyndon Pullins in 2002. Within a few months he took a fusing course, bought a glass kiln, and began experimenting.

Aurora Colors Glass Art Center opened as a full service stained glass store and studio on February 7, 2004. For two years we were located at 628 E. Washington Street across from Whole Foods in Petaluma. My dream to retire from my San Francisco job and work with glass full time evolved into reality by August, 2005. Aurora Colors moved "up town" to 145 Kentucky Street with opening day on April 28, 2006 - Butter & Egg Parade Day.

I teach beginning, advanced, and three-dimensional stained glass. Lyndon teaches beginning and advanced fusing. We assist each other with these classes. I also offer direct and indirect methods for mosaics. My daughter, Camille Torres, is a certified Precious Metal Clay instructor, offering classes about every other month. Bead making, sandblast etching, traditional painting on glass, mold-making, and many other classes related to fusing and kiln-forming are taught by guest instructors.

Aurora Colors Gallery opened in October 2006 on our upper floor. In addition to the gallery lighting, our fine art gallery is bright with natural light. About every six weeks we offer new themed and juried exhibits of all mediums by local and national artists.
