About the Artist:
The Works Progress Administration, Federal Art Project collection contains seventeen works of art by eleven artists were employed through the Federal Art Project of the Works Progress Administration established in 1935 by executive order of President Franklin D. Roosevelt. Paul Van Ryzin was one of the eleven.

• More than 100,000 easel paintings were produced through this project.  Through the good fortune and diligent work of C.L.C. art instructor emeritus Evelyn Matthies, this collection exists. 

• Each of the works is registered with the federal government. 

• Where possible, brief information is provided about the artist along with the art work.  However, in most cases, very little is known about these artists.
